It all started when…

In 2001 Esther & Kemal returned from living in Istanbul, Turkey. On their return they sold ceramics, herbs and spices that they had imported from Turkey at South Molton market. They developed their market offering with an entrepreneurial spirit, an eye for customer service, and a passion for quality coffee. Soon the stall became the market cafe.

As the market was only open two days a week and with encouragement from many of their regulars, they looked for a second premises to serve the residents of South Molton. In 2003 Esther and Kemal established their first permanent cafe, That New Place. For 13 years they traded from their unique island location, looking down East Street.

2016 saw the birth of Zest. A new all-day cafe restaurant concept in the heart of South Molton. It was a bold move. The duo took their popular service and renamed, rebranded and expanded into a new location, just three doors away from the old one. 135 East Street is now the base of all their operations. It has flourished into a hub where the community go to eat, drink and enjoy themselves.
